Summer 2011, what a program !!!! PART I
I've been wondering when I would have the time to start writing again...
I've really had a lot to do to this summer and honestly just forgot to write about it.... As the weather here in Belgium has been the worst since I can remember, I tryed to leave it as much as possible from the moment I had a day off....
11 july my friend Carina and me left for a night to the crowded city of London... We stayed in Hotel Thistle Bloomsbury Park. This 3* hotel close to Russel Square is perfectly situated. A stroll away from Covent garden, Kings Cross station and metrostations. What we loved the most in the hotel was the breakfast buffet !!! The room was big enough with a big kingsize bed like in the US. Nice and soft. A good adress to stay in Britains capital.
As we were only one day in London we tryied to visit the most famous places in town. We walked from the hotel throughCovent Garden, Picadilly, Trafalgar Square, Parliament street, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey and arrived just in time for the changing of guards at Buckingham Palace. From there by foot to Harrods for shopping (are you crazy, I don't have that kind of money!!), ok for looking..... The metro took us further to the Tower Bridge and Camden town all in one day. And we still had time to go shopping in Oxford street as the sales where on ! When are feet began to soar it was time to go back to Kings Cross and catch our Eurostar back to Lille.... What a day !
My next stop this summer was Amsterdam, again ! This time it was a quick stop of one night because I had tickets for a concert in the Amsterdam Arena on the 18th of july.
I stayed in a little hotel, 5 minutes from the Central Stations, called The Old Nickel. I chose it because of it's situation and, honestly, because of it's price. As I went alone, the prices for a single room where very high, so this hotel was at the honest price of 50€ with breakfast. The rooms are small but clean and above the owners bar. Although the staff wasn't that friendly and the breakfast was not to write home about, for one night close to the centre and station I didn't need more then that.
Take That's concert was huge, spectacular and so worth the money I spend on it ! The guys from Manchester all reunited was a night to remember !
One week later it was on the nice beach of Zeebruges that we had an appointment with Bon Jovi !!
From "Livin on a prayer" through "It's my life" and "Bed of roses", Jon Bon Jovi made the show ! The nicest summer sunset if the year was our gift to Bon Jovi's outstanding performance !!
The weekend of 30th july we had company. Remember Amandine and David from our trip to Sri Lanka ? Well, they came to visit us for 3 days, and we welcomed them with open arms into our appartment.
We took them to some of the nicest places on the Belgian coast area such as Bruges, Ostend and De Haan and had a lovely time doing that too !!

Studytrip Lloret de mar
Just got back from my second studytrip this year. This time I stranded in Lloret de mar - Costa Brava - Spain.
(Beach at Lloret)
Unless you want to go party with all the hormonious teenagers strolling around in the centre of town !
Lloret is one party in the evening with lots of bars, discos and fastfood corners ! Pretty convenient after a night of drinking and dancing.
But being completely honest, Lloret has some nice spots too, you just have to search for them.... There is a bar at Cala Banys that's worth a visit f.i.
(Bar at Cala Banys)
The inland though is very beautiful with nice green hills and little villages to cross, so don't hesitate to rent a car and drive around.
Then again, the hotels in Lloret are old and need to be destroyed and rebuild. (that's my opinion!)
But if you want some advice, here's whats the best of what I've seen ;
In Lloret : Rosamar Garden
Aquahotel Onabrava
I will remmember Lloret de mar in a good way, as I partied along with the teenagers. We had a wonderfull time there and ate a lot of fastfood (as the food in the hotels is awfull!)
Go Lloret ! Party on dudes !!

La bella Italia...
Europe is by far "The" place to be...
Here I am in the middle of the beautiful Tuscany sceneries wondering why it took me so long to come here...
We arrived yesterday in this little village called Volterra between the colourfull hills of Tuscany. The hotel Le Fonti is a nice place to stay, even if we had to discuss our room a bit. When we look out the window, we are slammed by the beauty of this place as if it was our first time on holiday.
No need for words, I'll just let you enjoy the things we saw here...
Some pictures of Volterra, San Gimignano and views in the Tucany hills...
